Background

Mountain View Pools & Spas, Inc., founded by Barry H Hall in 1985. Mountain View Pools & Spas, Inc. is under the leadership of E Dean Hampton who joined our company in 1994, and has over 30 years of experience in the Swimming Pool & Spa Building / Renovation Industry.

Our shared goal is to strive for Integrity, Professionalism, Timeliness, and True Value. We take pride in the fact that 90% of our projects come from referrals.

"Charlotte and I have spent the last month enjoying our redesigned pool and our new deck. Iam writing now for both of us to thank you for your extraordinary effort and professionalism.

Knowing the pride that you take in your work, I want to explain at the outset why we are not thanking you for the quality of the finished product. It is true that we can not imagine having a better pool and deck. When you recommended to us, however, we were told that Mountain View is the best in the business. Therefore, since our beginning expectations were so high, it does not seem right to thank you for doing what we expected. I will say that the quality of your work is consistent with your reputation.

What then are we thanking you for if not simply the quality of your work? In the final analysis, we believe that the following four factors set you apart from other contractors:

• Your design is unsurpassed. As you probably discovered, Charlotte and I are very particular when it comes to our home. On our first day we met, you recommended that we build a pool which would "fit" with the overall design of our home and yard. You then spent several days obviously considering different design options (I could count of how many mornings you told me "I woke up in the middle of the night and thought about..."). The finished product elegantly combines your experience with our thoughts and preferences to give us a pool that is unique to our home.

• Frankly, we were surprised by the skill and conscientiousness exhibited by your employees and subcontractors. You can ascertain how skillful these people are simply by looking at the pool and deck. What impressed us almost as much as how polite they were and how clean they left the job site at the end of each day. The best compliment we can give you is that we never could tell from watching these people work whether or not you were on site.

• We were convinced that the primary reason for your success is, simply puy, your management style. You often told me that "communication" is the cornerstone of your business philosophy. To that end, your kept us apprised of the daily progress and you always seemed to have your arms around what was going on at our house. You should note that I stated above that the enumerated factors set you apart from other contractors (not just pool designers). We strongly believe that your management skills would let you be successful in any business and that you simply decided to focus on swimming pools.

• Finally, the fact that you finished the project on schedule and within the budget we set before you began is almost unheard of in any industry

Barry, we again want to thank you for all your efforts. The pool that you designed and built is now the centerpiece of our yard. You should feel free to distribute this letter to potential clients. More importantly, you should not hesitate to have people call us or look at our pool as they are trying to make decisions."

"It's been approximately three weeks since our pool was plastered and filled; we are enjoying the site of our new pool immensely both in the daytime and at night with the lights on.

When we first moved into out home almost two years ago, my attempts at gathering information and seeking out potential pool contractors was a bit discouraging. We did not know whom we could trust and we were very inexperienced in the area of pool remodels. One day after speaking with out pool man Tim Gorski, Mountain View Pools and Spa was mentioned and I decided to give you a call.

I was very pleased with our first conversation. It seemed as though you were not hurried and were more than willing to spend the time with me, answering all my questions. In addition, I was happy to hear that you were working with a good landscape designer, Cynthia Kiktavi. After speaking with you and subsequently signing on with Cynthia as out landscape designer, we finally felt hopeful that our backyard could be made more functional and aesthetically pleasing. What could have been a very negative stressful experience turned out to be a very positive one.

First of all, your organizational skills and professionalism were quite impressive. You laid everything out step by step so we would know exactly what to expect and know what we were paying for. You were always accessible either by phone or in person and the communication was awesome. This quality definitely sets you apart from any other contractor we have ever worked with. We thoroughly appreciate that you made frequent visits to the project site and even met with us on several occasions to discus events going on or any changes being made. We also acknowledge that you paid special attention to our need for adequate drainage; this was a great concern for us.

A special thanks to Dean and Pedro; these men and their crews are obviously experienced and performed their jobs very completely. They were also polite and clean considering the circumstances. We feel confident that our pool not only looks better but will function much more efficiently as well. The surrounding deck now has ample drainage and is also very aesthetically pleasing.

Barry, your knowledge about pools is obvious, but we also feel you are an excellent businessman who exhibits professionalism and courtesy to his clients at all times. You should be the model to all people starting a business! We wish you the continued success; if ever you feel the need to show a potential client the work you have performed in our backyard, please do not hesitate to call us.

"Just a few words to say how pleased I was wight the recent job that was completed at my home in Pasadena last week.

Dean was a pleasure to work with. He led me through the whole process "gingerly" and answered my "7000" questions every day in a very patient fashion. I know he even took time from his vacation to pay special attention to the project.
